A man armed with a knife robbed a Naperville subway last night. Police responded to the incident at 2048 Aurora Avenue just after 9 p.m. They say the man entered the restaurant, showed a knife, and stole money before running off on a bicycle. Although the store workers were forced to the ground, none were injured. The suspect is described as a slim black man, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a white logo on the chest, gray sweatpants, black and white athletic shoes, a camouflage bandana and dark gloves. Anyone with information about the incident should call Naperville Police Department at 630-420-6666.

Kroehler YMCA Monument Status

Yesterday, Naperville Preservation, Inc. announced its intention to file an application to designate the Kroehler YMCA building as a Naperville monument. The decision comes in the wake of the group’s decision to seek recognition of landmark status from the National Register of Historic Places. The building, owned by Chicago Metropolis YMCA, opened in Naperville in 1911. The Naperville Historic Preservation Commission will discuss historical application at a future meeting and decide on a recommendation.

The district is asking parents to remind their children of the seriousness of these problems, with police warning that these are criminal offenses. A spokesperson for Naperville School District 203 said he was also aware of the challenges of TikTok and encouraged students to adopt appropriate behavior and respect.
