To celebrate the 125th anniversary of Southern Utah University, SUU, in partnership with Visit Cedar City • Brian Head is hosting a series of guided experiences. These tours will showcase the University like never before. Exploring the past, present and future of SUU, these guided experiences are a true celebration of the spirit of our founders. Our April event will be a tour of SUU’s Special Collections.

The Special Collections and University Archives located on the garden level of the Gerald R. Sherratt Library on the campus of Southern Utah University is the physical center for rare books, historical collections, university archives, photographs, memorabilia and other objects of historical value. Their mission is to collect, protect, and make accessible the university’s archives and unique collections that support the teaching and research goals of the university and the community. Special Collections serves as a regional repository under the Utah State Historical Archives Advisory Board to preserve and provide access to historical records and photographic materials.

Our guide will be Paula Mitchell, University Archivist and Associate Professor of Library and Information Science. Visits will take place on Thursday April 7 and 21 at 7 p.m. They are free and open to everyone. Come celebrate with us.
