Boca Raton, Florida – The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens have announced details of their Board of Directors’ Year of the Tiger gala to be celebrated at the museum on March 12, 2022. Events for the evening will include a spectacular dining program , dance, and music, showcased by guest artist Charles Calello and his 17-person orchestra. Famous Grammy nominee and renowned musical arranger, Calello is one of the original members of The 4 Seasons.
Upon arrival, guests will be served exclusive cocktails, enjoy Japanese Taiko percussion by Fushu Daiko, and participate in a tasting of Japan’s most premium brands of sake and whiskey while learning about must-have items on offer in the hotel. silent auction.
A spectacular fireworks display will mark the start of the evening’s program, with a solo musical performance by Mr. Calello as guests are served a sumptuous dinner. The Museum is pleased to announce that Kathleen Guzman, a contributor to PBS Antiques Roadshow and a world-renowned appraiser and auctioneer, will lead the evening’s live auction. Ms. Guzman is the Managing Director of Heritage Auctions, based in Texas, from their New York office.
Morikami Director Bonnie White LeMay and Museum Board Chair Celia “CiCi” Turner Zahringer will present the first George Morikami Cultural Awards after dinner.
The recipients are an esteemed selection of supporters who have made a positive contribution to Morikami and the life they have all touched through their continued generosity and the expression of their creativity.

The annual gala is the museum’s most important fundraiser. This event allows the association to raise the necessary funds in order to continue producing the award-winning, innovative and high-quality programming and events for which the Morikami is known.
The Year of the Tiger Gala is co-chaired by Board Members Celia Turner Zahringer, Pat Gourlay, Christine Carton and Robin May. The main sponsors are JM Family Enterprises, Inc. and Wells Fargo Private Bank. Catering will be provided by Ken-Rose Catering Inc. of Palm Beach. Decor by DECO Productions, Miami.
Profits will be donated to Morikami 4Es: exhibitions, education, emotional wellness programs and expansion.
