Poets present third edition of ‘Visual Verse’

The Center for the Arts, Lakes Sunapee Region Literary Arts Guilds invites you to join us, as well as the Warner Historical Society for a poetry reading as some of the poets of Visual Verse III: Snapshots in Time share their work at Warner Town Hall. You’ll see the photos of Warner and the surrounding towns that inspired the poets to write on November 27 at 4 p.m. ET.

Visual Verse III: Snapshots in Time combines photographs from the collections of seven historical societies in the Kearsarge-Sunapee area with the poetry inspired by these images. Together, these photos and poems capture and reimagine many dimensions of life in this area of ​​New Hampshire during the 1800s and early 20th century. This volume represents a collaboration between the Center for the Art’s Literary Arts Guild, the John Hay Poetry Society and the historical societies of the towns of Andover, Bradford, Goshen, Newbury, Sunapee. Sutton and Warner.

Visual Verse III: Snapshots in Time can be purchased at the Upton Chandler House Museum Store, MainStreet BookEnds, Center for the Arts, and it will be available at Town Hall during the event.

The Warner Historical Society was formed over 50 years ago to preserve, educate, and keep Warner’s heritage alive. The company holds annual exhibitions and programs at the Upton Chandler House Museum on Main Street and operates the Lower Warner Meeting House which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
