The AT Stewart Consignment Shop
I love fall! Who doesn’t love the vibrant oranges, reds and yellows of fall foliage ?! I also look forward to the change of season because I enjoy the cool mornings and the beautiful daytime temperatures. It’s time to put away the white pants and pull out the comfy jeans and sweaters, which reminds me of shopping! Just a reminder that on Wednesdays (ONLY) we resumed our extended shopping hours until 6:00 p.m. This is especially great for those of you who are working and cannot always get in before 4:00 p.m. And we are open again on Saturday!
And you’ll want to come soon, as we’re getting our new fall merchandise – consignment items AND NY Gift Show. We have some great fresh items – such as our full-size M&M candy dispenser – as well as some of the old classics, such as the Annalee felt figurines. Don’t forget to check out the batty items, spooky witches, and fun pumpkins!
All are invited to come in and browse the exchange. However, if you are not vaccinated, please wear a mask. Even though all the volunteers have been vaccinated, you will find that most of us continue to wear our masks, out of excess of caution. We offer hand sanitizer when you enter the store, and to make you feel safe, we use the air purifier which cleans the air in the store every hour.
We receive newly consigned merchandise almost every day! And we’re selling new merchandise – especially gift items – purchased through the NY Gift Show. Therefore, I prefer to think of our store as a gift and resale store. If you can’t come right away, please shop online at www.atstewartexchange.org and come to the Exchange to collect. We also post photos on the AT Stewart Exchange Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as the TGCHS website (www.tgchs.org).
Don’t know the exchange shop? We are housed in the Garden City Historical Society (TGCHS) museum at 109 Eleventh Street (in the basement of the building). All proceeds from the Boutique’s sales benefit TGCHS directly. In addition to our bestsellers – jewelry (costumes and beauties), lamps, mirrors and crystal (Waterford, Baccarat, Tiffany) – we take / accept money, wallets, china, furniture, works of art and collectibles. All items are in new or nearly new condition.
With the virus, we had to take action to protect our customers, senders and volunteers. We now only ship by appointment, which helps limit the number of people in the store at any time and reduce waiting times for shipments. Shipments are now made Wednesday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. by appointment ONLY, so please call (516) 746-8900. Not sure if your items can be shipped? Email the photos to [email protected] and be sure to include the sizing information. Please make sure the items are cleaned and polished ready to sell.
All the profits from the consignment support the maintenance and upkeep of the TGCHS museum. Thanks to your generous support, work outside the Museum continues.
The store is located at 109 Eleventh Street. Boutique opening hours: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm; Wednesday until 6:00 p.m. Sat noon – 4:00 p.m.
