William W. DePan, Sr., 67, of Lee Center, died Thursday, December 2, 2021 in Faxton-St. Elizabeth’s Healthcare in Utica. He was born in Rome on January 17, 1954, the son of the late William and Lois (Shephard) DePan. He was married to former Johanne Brower.

Bill worked for many years at Spargo Wire and International Wire before retiring. He was a member of the Pointer’s Horseshoe League and played softball for Stan’s Seafood for many years.

He loved the outdoors, whether he fished, hunted or boated. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Besides his wife, Johanne, nine children survive, William Szablewski (Karen), Thomas Szablewski (Danielle), Tonya Calkins (Heath), William DePan, Jr. (Samantha), Crystal Marshall (Joseph), Amanda Come, Abryonnah DePan, Paxtyn DePan and Michelle Bristol; two sisters, Betty Dougher (Bill) and Stella DePan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four siblings, Richard Roberts, Doris Szablewski, Bonnie Tennant and Edward DePan.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, December 7 at 11:30 a.m. at Lee State Road Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, Monday, December 6, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
